I think the psychopath definition is a little too broad because I think it’s just the “reptilian” part of the brain that exists in all humans – we can either be governed by fear and domination/submission or rise above it and think consciously with the frontal lobes that in part define us as a species. I do agree that some people are more prone to regressing to the reptilian core, as evidenced by power politics in DC that results in millions of dead people every year from financial and militaristic terrorism, Wall Street vampirism and the Hollywood propaganda machine that perpetuates it all.
I also think (having taken philosophy 101, symbolic logic and discrete mathematics) that logic, while a useful tool, is not a catch-all panacea because it can be easily twisted to justify a falsehood e.g. sophistry. Then again, that word probably entered the ancient Greek and eventually English lexicons (see the ancient Sophists) to discourage free thinkers for the purpose of empire management, e.g. the J.D. Rockefeller quote used in that article:
“In our dreams, people yield themselves with perfect docility to our molding hands. The present education conventions of intellectual and character education, fade from their minds and unhampered by tradition, we work our own good will upon a grateful and responsive folk. The Trivium without a grounding in ethics and morals is not complete, however.
That having been said, Silver Shield is throwing down the gauntlet with regards to waking our country back up. Right on, brother. Keep kicking serious ass.
Update: I wanted to add that logic and reason are incomplete without right-brain thought, intuition and the use of the “gut” (yes, there’s a nerve complex of sorts down there and it’s crucial to perception). One can fumble about herp-derping through logical steps to a conclusion that may or may not be correct, or combine it with the power of human intuition. Intuition alone is barely better than chance, though, and needs the discipline of the left-brain to harness it properly, just like a man is incomplete without a woman.
One way to cultivate and harness whole-brain thinking is to force yourself to write with your opposite hand. This triggers the corpus callosum, the connective tissue between both hemispheres of the brain. The more you force yourself to do this, the more the connective tissue grows. Other simple things to try are throwing with your non-throwing arm, kicking with your non-kicking leg or even put your pants on with your non-leading leg. Seriously.
